Cali’s elderly owner loved her dearly, but when caring for a pet became impossible, they made the painful decision to surrender Cali to the Southaven Animal Shelter. At the shelter, Mister Perry gave Cali the attention and care she needed, making sure she stayed safe, healthy, and hopeful for a new beginning.
It was DARS who saw Cali’s spark and decided she deserved more than just shelter life—she deserved a family of her own. When DARS pulled Cali from the shelter, she was given the chance to shine at her first adoption event, held at Petco Southaven.
Sometimes, the universe lines up perfectly. At that very event, the Davis family stopped by and spotted Cali. It was love at first sight—one look was all it took for them to know she belonged with them. The adoption was swift, joyful, and full of hope for the future.
Now, Cali will never have to worry about returning to a shelter. Her days are spent surrounded by a loving family committed to her happiness and care for the rest of her life. Whether she’s napping in a sunny spot, playing with her people, or just enjoying the security of home, Cali is exactly where she was always meant to be.
