We can’t do it without you. Whether you adopt, foster, donate, or volunteer—your support saves lives.

Our Friends Call Us DARS

DeSoto Animal Rescue Society (DARS) Founded in DeSoto County, Mississippi, we are a 501(c)(3) nonprofit rescue organization run entirely by volunteers. Our team works tirelessly to rescue abandoned, abused, and unwanted cats and dogs, giving them a second chance in loving homes.

Every animal in our care lives with a foster family—not in a shelter—so we know their personalities, preferences, and needs.

We prioritize the best long-term matches, not the fastest adoptions.

We promote responsible pet ownership, spay/neuter, and community support.

🐱 what we do

Since our founding, DARS has rescued and rehomed hundreds of cats and dogs throughout DeSoto County and the surrounding region. Every adoption allows us to save another life.

🐕 Why we do this

Every cat and dog we rescue is a life worth fighting for. At DARS, we believe in second chances—not just for animals, but for the people who love them. Whether you’re here to adopt, foster, volunteer, or simply learn more, you’re part of a story that’s changing lives every day.
