Mr. Miyagi’s Happy Tail: Special Siamese Kitten Heals with Love
Mr. Miyagi’s Happy Tail
Jock, now known as Mr. Miyagi, was a tiny Siamese kitten facing big challenges from the start. When DARS rescued him and his five siblings, all seemed healthy except for Jock and his twin brother, Jake. Both twins had trouble with their right eyes: persistent watering, a cloudy film, and difficulty opening.
After careful veterinary examination, the news was bittersweet. Jake’s eye had ruptured shortly after birth and required surgical removal. Jock’s eye wasn’t as severe, but it was still at risk—some thought it might be safest to remove it as well.
That’s when Dr. Christy Allen at Cat & Cow Veterinary Clinic stepped in. She advocated for a gentler approach: let Jock keep his eye, give him time, and provide expert care in hopes it would heal. Dr. Christy’s dedication and gentle touch paid off—Jock kept his eye and, day by day, it improved.
What happened next was truly special. Dr. Christy, touched by Jock’s resilience and sweet nature, asked if she could adopt him herself. It was the perfect match: a kitten with special needs and a compassionate veterinarian ready to give him the best care possible.
Now called Mr. Miyagi, this little Siamese thrives as both a beloved family member and an honorary clinic cat. He accompanies Dr. Christy to work every day, charming staff and clients alike. His once-damaged eye is bright and healthy, and he’s grown into a stunning cat with two sparkling blue eyes.
Stories like Mr. Miyagi’s remind us that sometimes the best medicine is patience, expertise, and unconditional love. DARS is forever grateful to Dr. Christy for giving Mr. Miyagi not only his sight, but a family and a future.
